Born Michael Thornton on June 15, 1976. Very little is known about Thornton's early life. Hailing from "parts unknown," Thornton has almost no memories of his prepubescent childhood. He says, "I done never knew my ma or pa. I ain't never knew nothin' bout nothin'." It is known that by 1991, Thornton was living in Oneonta, Alabama and had even secured a job as a pin-monkey at the Bowl and Spit Bowling Alley. "I loved me livin' in 'bama," says Thornton, "Friendly folks. Good weather. Lots o' guns. And ain't no yellow-bellied, fancy-footed Frenchmen there, neither." Not one to make drastic, risky career moves, Thornton continued to work at the Bowl and Spit through 1997. " I was practically the president of that there bowlin' alley," he continues, " I did it all - waxed the lanes, cleaned the dumper, shot at the Frenchmen. And ain't nothing make a man happier than havin' two big, round, black balls in his hands." Sometime in 1999, Thornton traveled north where he joined the up-and-coming New Jersey-based cover-band, Jobu. |
